SPECIAL RECOGNITION BY THE SUPREME COURT OF NIGERIA
As a leading constitutional Lawyer in Nigeria, the Supreme Court of Nigeria has been inviting S.T. Hon as amicus curiae (“friend of the court”) from time to time to file Briefs and address it on complex constitutional matters filed before that Court. This is a rare invitation extended only to lawyers who have excelled in fundamental and grave areas of the law.
Appointed as Member of the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Special Appeals Committee (2014), by Hon. Justice Alooma Mukhtar, the then Chief Justice of Nigeria. This is the Body that entertains appeals from applicants who feel they have been unjustly denied the award of the rank of SAN.
Appointed by Hon. Justice Dalhatu Adamu (then Acting President of the Court of Appeal), and subsequently by Hon. Justice Zainab Adamu Bulkachuwa, President of the Court of Appeal, to serve as Member, Court of Appeal Rules’ Drafting Committee – the Committee that drafted the Court of Appeal Rules, 2016.
